Gerard's Pamphlet

WHO IS YWAM?
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God's kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole man throughout the whole world.

WHAT IS YWAM DOING IN MUIZENBERG?
YWAM Muizenberg serves as a Multi-Cultural Platform to embrace, equip and launch people into all Nations, to reveal Christ. Workers have gone out from Muizenberg to Africa, India and Central Asia. Our goal is to disciple and to mobilize young people of all ethnic backgrounds and equip them for world missions by offering a series of excellent training courses and ministry opportunities both locally and internationally.

Urban Ministries
Our Urban Ministries are involved in a wide range of outreaches across the Cape Town Metropolitan area.  We focus on reaching urban youth & children by ministering in high schools, prisons, orphanages, reaching out to local street kids.  We also take active part in the South African National anti-drug, anti-crime and anti-child trafficking campaigns.
Training
We offer a variety of training programs YWAM Muizenberg provides a location for a variety of training programs under the University of the Nations (UofN).  These training programs equip those called of God to reach the lost and build the Church of Christ.

School of Church Planting & Leadership
About three-billion people in the world do not yet know Jesus Christ. Almost two-thirds of those people do not have the Bible in their own language or understand how the Word of God fits in their culture. This means that over two-billion people will not come to know Jesus unless someone is daring enough to take God's love and move into these cultures with an aim to evangelize, disciple, and plant churches.
In December 1988 the Holy Spirit stirred us as a Mission to commit ourselves to pioneer church planting. Because of this YWAM has taken on the goal of establishing church multiplication movements among unreached people groups and the School of Church Planting & Leadership was formed. Jesus commanded all believers to go and make disciples of all nations.

HOW DOES GERARD FIT INTO THIS PICTURE?

My Name is Gerard Rabo (Kiswendsida meaning Trust God), I am from Burkina Faso West Africa. I am a full time Missionary with Youth A Mission (YWAM) since 2000 after my Discipleship Training School (DTS) in 1999. I was leading the Discipleship Training School in Ywam Burkina, active in Evangelism and working alongside Local Churches through teaching, preaching and Youth Ministry. Through these years of ministry the Lord has opened doors before me for more training to be more equipped and effective in the Ministry.  In 2007 I went to South Africa for a Church Planting School at Ywam Muizenberg. In April 2009 I went in the United States to do a School of Foundation in Community Development and School Of Worship. September 2010 I came to South Africa for my Bible School.
After a year of training with the Biblical studies and the Titus Project I felt the Lord is leading me to get involved with Youth With A Mission (Ywam) Muizenberg for the coming two years with the Biblical Studies Department. Precisely I will be working with the Mobile / Titus Project Team. The Mobile Team is equipping the Churches in the townships and others areas of Cape Town and over the nation. By Trainings, Bible Studies and Empowering believers with the Word of God so that they can grow and be able to live a spiritual healthy life with the Lord and with one another.
Every July to September we will be taking the Biblical studies graduate students to train them and equip them how to teach, how to prepare a teaching, preaching and how to present it and then sent them around Africa where there is need of bible training and to equip church leaders with the word of God.
I am pretty excited for these two years commitment. I will be investing where my passion, my vision is: disciple and equip the Local church that leads to true transformation. After the school I will be busy visiting and building relationship with Pastors and churches with the goal to start regular pastors’ prayer meetings and bring unity among pastors and churches of the area.
